"Start Spreading the News.."

New York!
Why have I been dreading this post for so long? Probably because I know it was going to be a long one. I decided to split it up into two posts. It was kind of like I had two trips anyway. One post will be my girls portion and one will be my time with SJ.

I love traveling with friends! I have done a lot of friend trips over the years but there is something about FLYING with your girls that is just so exciting. Except when they upgrade themselves to the front of the plane and just when you get up from your seat to do it too, you are told that you can't... (haha!)

We were just on cloud nine waking up in the Bloom household. We walked the boys to school and grabbed some amazing bagels from a neighboring shop and ate them with this incredible view!
Brooklyn streets are so dreamy

Lunch was phenomenal!

Larissa, your duck lips are KILLING me!

I was so obsessed with all of the NYPD paraphernalia. My friends hated me by the end of.. day 1!
Just be glad I didn't ask them to say it with me..
in the criminal justice system, sexually based offenses are considered especially heinous. in new york city, the dedicated detectives who investigate these vicious felonies are members of an elite squad known as the special victims unit. these are their stories.

9/11 memorial, sharing thoughts & impressions of it all
This had such a "You've Got Mail" vibe. I wanted to walk right in.

Central Park

Stuart Little vibes

Major highlight! Just chilling in the shade. Having a little girl talk. People watching. Eating carrots.
Yes carrots. I somehow was apart of a health challenge THAT I STUCK WITH THE WHOLE TIME I WAS IN NY! We had to have a vegetable with every meal so these babies came along for every ride...

I feel so blessed by the kindness of others. A beautiful couple in our ward has a gorgeous apartment in the city that we stayed at for a couple nights. Gorgeous view of the Chrysler building
(not to be mistaken for the Empire State building like when we first arrived..)

I split from the group to see my favorite Les Miserables. I can't believe I had the chance to see it on broadway. I wished I could have had my sister and mom there with me though. It's a moment I won't forget. Bawled like a 'lil babe.

The Met

I loved sitting on the Met steps
(the inside was alright too... ha) and taking in all of the people! Not to mention pretending I was in a Gossip Girl episode. Too many quotes to be said on those stairs.
[while the responsible ones were yelping on where to eat, thanks guys]

Why are those tennis shoes happening?
Cannot forget our dance party in Central park. This guy loved Caro!
Ps do people still roller blade?

Quick church time at the Manhattan temple. We ended up in the singles ward which I was happy about because I knew my chances of running into these two would be high! I was Tessa's EFY counselor and Conner was a BFF in college. Small world in the church.

Where to next ladies?

Nicole Erin Photography

Around this time last year I decided to start my photography business! It has been such a whirlwind of excitement, learning and maybe even some tears. Putting myself and my talent out there wasn't the easiest for me (and at times, still isn't) but I'm grateful for the bravery to get out there and pursue photography. I am also grateful for a husband who supports me in ALL things photography. Including, spending his one free night holding the light reflector in some rough humidity. He helps me believe in myself (and even pushes me to raise my prices haha)

I also have had the opportunity to have some close friends who are incredible photographers. I could pick their brains for hours- and sometimes do. I have taken a break this summer but feel more energized then ever to get back into it!
So here is to another year pursuing my photography passion...

Doing werrrk in the Keys

Shaun had a work conference in the Keys on the weekend of my birthday. Which hello, count me in! Our friends on the east coast (he's a pharma rep with Shaun) were planning on coming and we were going to make it one big party. His wife could not come last minute so it was a fun party of 3. We love when Drew is our 3rd wheel! Don't want to brag, but our 3rd wheels usually rave about us...
(total joke, but not a joke. ya know?)

When SJ's out on business, we like to try different food that we never would try.
For me that would mean...steak (haha). No, I actually tried and loved fried alligator!
Happy birthday to me.

In the morning, the boys were working the booth and I took a gorgeous bike ride down the coast.

solo kayak & bike rides only entertain you for so long.
I went and hung out with the boys at the booth for the rest of the day
It was 1000 degrees so Drew got us THE MOST DELICIOUS FROZEN LEMONADE I HAVE EVER HAD.
Like seriously.
I can still imagine the taste.

People disappoint, pizza is eternal.

Really all I care about is pizza and like four people.

Yeah I'm into fitness. Fitness whole pizza in my mouth

The amount of pizza quotes I have saved on my phone is getting out of control!

Remember how I said people rave about being our 3rd wheel?
They are so excited they throw themselves off water trampolines.

I was actually pretty sad to see 25 go, but I am enjoying the 26 party just fine!

4

We thought we were doing ourselves a favor by having our anniversary smack-dab in between our birthdays (that are 12 days apart). The thinking was every year we would celebrate our two birthdays and anniversary with one big trip. That hasn't happened yet. Our birthday shenanigans take over most March nights surrounding our anniversary. However, we always take the day to dance to our wedding song and think about that special day where we were sealed in the Lord's house for all eternity. This year, I made Shaun get back into our wedding outfits for a photo-op. Apparently a photo-op where it totally covers the outfits that we were trying to show off...

happy 4 years to us, sj.
you have made me more adventurous
and i've made you... more cautious of germs!
