Guest Room Makeover

I am finally feeling like my house is coming together. It is an awesome feeling!
I can not tell you how many colors I have tried for my guest room and nothing seemed to fit. My Mom would always say, 'you'll find a piece you can't live without and then just decorate the room around that one piece.' Well that finally happened. I was at Hobby Lobby and walked passed this octagon black & gold mirror. I fell in LOVE! That is where I got my black, white, and gold inspiration.

Next, my heart could not part with this adorable lamp! I walked passed it
at Target for a few weeks. I thought I could just somehow make a look-a-like,
but I soon realized it just wouldn't be the same (isn't that pull chain so ADORABLE?!)

You can paint a pine cone gold and make it look like it's worth money.
Gold is just so classy like that. Here I got an All a Dollar length mirror and painted it
gold.

Curtains and bedskirts are next on the to-do list!

-The black pillow covers are $8 at Hobby Lobby!
-My cousin taught me how to make the small gold pillows (no wonder ladies open their own pillow making business. I felt so accomplished after making that small pillow, haha!)
-Black Ikea frames $2
-The gold prints on the left I got on Group Deals. When I realized I needed
two more, I just scanned Pinterest for some free gold printables.
-Remember my Annie Sloan chalk paint obsession? I took one of my parents
old writing desks and painted it. Small, but it gets the job done.

#Shaun&thegirls

This handsome hunk has been a TROOPER ---->

My best friend and best sister have been visiting
the past two weeks and it has been SO amazing! Shaun's pretty good
about letting us have our girl time but every once in a while...

...we love having 'Shaun & the girls' time!
{When SJ and I were dating/engaged, my friends
were never dating anybody so it usually was Shaun
 and the girls. I know he missed it haha}

More on our adventures later. Just wanted to say that it's been the best two weeks.
And I love my husband. Especially when he comes into the room and pulls up a pillow,
talking in a feminine voice. He loves our girl chats ;)

Marco Island Work Retreat

A lot of people ask what Shaun does or what brought us to Florida. Shaun is an animal pharmaceutical rep. He works with the vets along the coast here building their clinics and making sure they get the medicine that they need. Shaun's company, Merial, is amazing and everyday we are grateful for this job that we were blessed with. Shaun's a rockstar and is having an awesome first year. What comes with the job are some pretty sweet perks [especially because we live on the gulf of Florida]. A few weeks ago, Merial's Florida district had a little retreat. Each sells rep got to bring their top three or four vets to attend. It was at the Marco Island Marriot Beach Resort.

I had just gotten back from our Utah trip. I was so exhausted from vacation (ha) so this was the perfect way to relax from my..vacation. We had an awesome time with our friends Jodi & Drew, who live on the east side so it's hard to get together. While the boys were in meetings in the mornings, the wives got to play.

It was so great meeting some of Shaun's clients and the other reps in Florida. Also, the sunsets were completely INSANE. I am kind of a sunset freak so these were magical for me to see!

The last day, we were able to jet ski! Initially, you had to be 27 or older to drive. Which I thought was a little outrageous. Shaun and I ended up sharing which I actually liked better. It was fun to take it all in together and laugh. You had to be a long ways away from the other jet skiers so it wouldn't have been as fun. We saw manatees and dolphins. There was a storm coming so we weren't able to see any sea turtles (which SJ was bummed about). We got the one experienced guide who was able to get the dolphins to play with us (see video below). We were on cloud nine the rest of the day! Marco Island is at the top of my list of favorite places!

Utah & Dion

"Congratulations, you have been picked for a ticket upgrade.
Go to the service desk to get your new seats"

Those were the marvelous words that we heard on our way into Celine Dion. I was SO giddy I think I skipped to the service desk. We had originally decided on the nose bleed seats so this was the best news! We ended up in the middle of the ground level. I didn't even need the binoculars I had brought. It was like they knew our shows had been cancelled the last few times that they did it on purpose, but there was no way that was the case. Our name was on a list of 50 out of the whole theatre that got randomly picked. Good Karma? The show was magical in every way possible. You just need to experience it to understand. We went with our favorites Becky & Matt and stayed at the Cosmopolitan resort. After Vegas it was homeward bound for an awesome 4th of July with our families.

[quick little video from the trip.
why am i such a picture fanatic?]
